The decoration in the cottage was delightful, with a charming country style that made me feel right at home. The general areas were clean and well-maintained, making it easy for me to navigate and relax. As a senior woman, I appreciated the accessibility of the cottage, as it was all on one level and perfect for those with mobility issues. It made me feel truly comfortable and at ease during my stay.
I would have liked to see more assistance available for senior guests. It would have been helpful if the children working there could provide some guidance or recommendations specifically tailored for older individuals.

The location of this retreat is perfect - just a short drive to the city and close to a Tesco. the cottage itself is well-maintained and offers stunning views of the river and hills. the rooms are comfortable with lovely beds, and the bathrooms are equipped with toiletries. the host is welcoming and responsive, ensuring that guests have a relaxing stay. the hot tub is a great addition, perfect for unwinding in the evenings, and the cottage has ample entertainment options with Sky and Netflix available. the attention to detail is impressive, from the personalized hot tub towels to the provision of kids' cutlery and plates.
One downside mentioned is that the river bank walk options near the retreat lead to a sewage farm or a rundown boat yard.

The location of this retreat is ideal, with easy access to the city and nearby amenities. The cottage itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with comfortable beds, a spacious lounge, and breathtaking views of the river and hills. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure a relaxing stay, providing everything from towels and bathrobes to a well-stocked kitchen. The hot tub and entertainment options like Sky and Netflix add an extra touch of luxury.
Due to the surrounding area, the options for walking along the river bank are limited.

This place exceeded all expectations and is definitely at the top of our favorite list for future visits to the area.

The cottage was incredible! It had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. the rooms were lovely and the beds were super comfy. the views from the lounge were amazing, with a beautiful garden and a stunning river and hill view. the location was perfect, just a short drive away from shops and amenities, but still surrounded by peaceful countryside. the owner, Deborah, was extremely welcoming and even showed us how to use the hot tub. the kitchen was well stocked with tea, coffee, and fresh eggs from their chickens. the bathrooms had all the essentials and the bedrooms had towels, bathrobes, and slippers. Plus, they even provided extra touches like personalized hot tub towels and kids' cutlery and plates. it was a fantastic experience and definitely a place we would love to return to!
That we couldn't walk along the river bank. Unfortunately, one way led to a sewage farm and the other to a rundown boat yard.
